It’s just over a week until Christmas now! Oh my gosh – so exciting. Is it acceptable to start saying Merry Christmas? Hmm maybe not… but I think I might start saying it anyway.
This year I thought I’d push myself a little with the blog content and try my hand at the 12 Days of Blogmas challenge. So from today until the 25th December there will be a new post over these parts every single day! The version of Blogmas that I’m following is this one from Alternative Speaking. So head over if you want to see what types of posts you can expect to see over the next 12 days. There’s also a bunch of other lovely bloggers joining in as well so you should check them out as well.
So for the first day of Christmas, blogmas gave to me…a tour of my Christmas tree. Now what I seriously underestimated, was trying to get any sort of half decent pictures of a tree in Winter. There is no daylight!! So hates off to the bloggers who manage to do this daily throughout all of winter. The heading picture of this post I actually took whilst at the Christmas markets in Glasgow – which btw is the first time I’ve ever been!
My tree this year is really simple. I’ve gone for lots of fairy lights, with gold and clear baubles. I used to go all out on the tinsel, coloured lights and crazy baubles – just about anything kitsch you could think of, my tree would have it. But I’ve decided to really draw back this year. What I’d really like to get is some fake snow on the tree and some gold garlands for something a little extra. I might even get some acorns and add in a bit of a woodland theme. One year I’d love to get a real tree.
So in true Christmas style, David and I put the tree up last Friday night with glass of red wine and the Christmas tunes blaring. I deliberately waited until he could do it with me because I love it being our little tradition.
I’d love to see your Christmas trees – so share them with me, and let me know what your favourite part of Christmas is.
I hope you’re all looking forward to Blogmas – I know I’m looking forward to the challenge and creating some new content.
Merry Christmas – love, Lauren xx
